2 cups plain yoghurt 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup honey 1 tablespoon bicarb soda 4 cups wholemeal flour 3/4 teaspoon baking powder 2 tablespoons cracked wheat, soaked 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/3 cup whole wheat grains
Combine the honey and yoghurt in a bowl and mix well. Combine the flour, cracked wheat, salt, soda, baking powder and oil in another bowl. Make a well in the centre and pour in the yoghurt mixture. Fold in the dry ingredients and stir into a dough. Knead for a few minutes on a floured board.
Shape into a round about 20 cm. and place on a well-greased baking tray. Cut a deep cross 1 cm. on top of the dough. Sprinkle wheat grains on top and press in very lighly. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 190°C for 45 minutes or until the loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the botom.
